Improve yield with a controlled review
Publisher revenue depends on eligible demand, audience quality, placement and visitor experience. Evaluate these factors together.
Establish a baseline
Choose a dated reporting window and record impressions, fill, revenue, device mix and traffic sources. State the currency, timezone and whether revenue is gross or net of deductions. Compare figures from the same property and placement rather than unrelated totals.
Review placement quality
Check visibility, dimensions, layout stability, ad density and page speed. Ensure ads are clearly identifiable and controls work on smaller screens. A placement that raises short-term revenue while damaging engagement needs a separate review.
Run focused tests
Adjust one placement, format or delivery setting at a time. Define the review date and minimum evidence needed before scaling. Compare eligible impressions and qualified audience behavior as well as eCPM; document source changes and seasonal effects.
Reconcile and improve
Discuss reporting differences, invalid-traffic adjustments and settlement with the account team. Keep a record of the test and the agreed definitions. Use the publisher checklist to prepare the property review and commercial questions.
